WSP Group Africa’s Mine Closure business is seeking to appoint Interns for a one-year period commencing January 2025, to help execute work both locally and elsewhere in the continent. The range of work to be conducted may also extend to the industrial, power and/or renewables sectors.
The successful intern candidates will have the opportunity to accompany senior closure practitioners on site visits, contribute to the development of closure and rehabilitation planning reports, computing and finalising closure costs, and assist with liaising with clients. At the end of the one-year fixed-term internship, WSP intends to appoint the most suitable candidate as a permanent member of the Mine Closure team.
Key Responsibilities:
A key responsibility of the successful candidate would be to provide support to the intermediate and senior team members in computing and verifying closure costs for various mine and industrial sites, along with developing closure and rehabilitation planning and closure costing service offerings, aligning with the relevant legislative requirements and international practices and standards.
