Praesignis: Data Science Internships (Statistics, Computer Science, IT, Data Science Graduates)

We are looking for a motivated and analytical Data Scientist Intern to join our team and assist with extracting insights from large datasets to support data-driven decision-making. This internship is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with real-world data, learn from experienced data professionals, and develop your skills in data science, machine learning, and statistical analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets.
• Support the development and testing of data models and algorithms.
• Prepare data visualizations and reports to communicate insights.
• Contribute to solving real-world business challenges using data.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including business analysts, developers, and stakeholders.
• Document your processes, findings, and project outcomes clearly.
• Participate in learning sessions and complete required modules aligned with the NQF Level 5 Data Science Practitioner qualification.

Requirements:

• A completed three-year tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) in: Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
• OR
• A completed Higher Certificate or Occupational Qualification at NQF Level 5 in the same or related field
• Strong interest in data science, analytics, or artificial intelligence
• Familiarity with basic programming (e.g., Python, SQL) and data analysis tools is advantageous
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
