Dis-Chem: People & Culture Internships (HR or Psychology Graduates)
Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for People & Culture Graduate to join the Head Office team on a 1 year Fixed Term Contract. To provide structured workplace exposure and practical experience in key HR transformation areas including Employment Equity (EE), Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE), HR Information Systems (HRIS), and ESG-aligned People and Culture projects.
The role supports the graduate’s development into a competent People & Culture professional with a strong foundation in compliance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities...
- People & Culture Transformation Support coordination of all Dis-Chem Transformation Committee meetings, including agenda preparation minute-taking and Dis-Chem Transformation Committee insights dissemination to the relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in People & Culture Transformation stakeholder sessions and verification processes.
- Contribute to People & Culture Transformation reporting and compliance documentation.
- Support data collection for Management Control, Employment Equity, Skills Development, and Procurement scorecard elements.
- Populate templates and maintain Transformation audit evidence folders.
- Assist in preparing for B-BBEE audits.
- Update internal ESG and People & Culture Transformation data tables (e.g., diversity, equal opportunity).
- Assist in compiling monthly and quarterly People & Culture and ESG reports.
- Learn and apply document control and data register practices.
- Participate in internal awareness campaigns and roadshows.
- Shadow ESG and Transformation teams during audits and stakeholder engagements.
- Lead mini-projects and a capstone project aligned with ESG or Transformation goals.
- Coordinate campaign logistics and support event planning as and when required.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Degree in Human Resource, Industrial Psychology, or related field
- South African citizen
- MIE, clear criminal
- Strong administrative skills
Advantage:

Skills and Competencies:
- Understanding of ESG, B-BBEE, and EE frameworks
- Ability to interpret audit requirements and compile evidence
- Understanding of stakeholder roles in compliance and reporting
- Collaboration with managers, and cross-functional teams
- Consistent tracking of project timelines and deliverables
- Time management and workplace etiquette, adaptability and eagerness to learn
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Maintains a high standard of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks such as audit preparation, data reporting, and stakeholder coordination within set timelines.
- Understanding of data tracking and document control processes
