Our structured HR Internship Programme is designed to give you broad exposure to the core areas of HR, supported by experienced mentors and coaches. You’ll work alongside a dynamic team, contributing to impactful projects while developing the skills and knowledge needed for a successful HR career. This opportunity is funded by FASSET and comes with a stipend to support your journey
Responsibilities;
As an HR Intern, you will focus on one or a combination of these functions:
- Talent Acquisition: Support recruitment activities, including posting job adverts, screening CVs, scheduling interviews, and assisting with pre-employment checks and onboarding processes.
- Learning & Development: Help coordinate training sessions, support the roll-out of learning initiatives, and assist with tracking and evaluating learning outcomes.
- HR Operations: Maintain accurate HR records and databases, provide administrative support, and help ensure compliance with company policies.
- Employee Engagement: Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, assist in organising company events, and support communication efforts across the business.
- Special Projects: Participate in a variety of HR projects, gaining exposure to different aspects of the employee lifecycle and HR strategy.
Requirements:
- Completed Matric certificate (Grade 12)
- A National Diploma / B Tech / Bachelor’s Degree in: Human Resource Management
- Currently unemployed and not studying full-time
- Commitment to the 12-month programme
- To be eligible, you should not have participated in an Internship Programme before
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word essential; advanced Excel an advantage).
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and process orientation.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder skills.
- Effective problem-solver with sound business acumen.
- Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Enthusiastic, committed, and adaptable.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong networker and active listener.
