About the National Consumer Commission (NCC)

The National Consumer Commission is a statutory body established under South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act (CPA) to promote and protect the rights of consumers. The Commission is responsible for enforcing consumer protection legislation, investigating complaints, monitoring market conduct, and promoting fair, transparent, and responsible business practices. Through education, advocacy, and regulatory oversight, the National Consumer Commission plays a key role in ensuring that consumers are treated fairly and that businesses comply with consumer protection laws.

About the Internships

The National Consumer Commission is offering internship opportunities for unemployed South African youth graduates to gain practical workplace experience in the public sector. The programme is open to graduates aged 18–35 who have not previously participated in any public or private sector internship and require work experience.

Internship Details

• Stipend: R8000.00 per month
• Fixed-Term: 12 months contract
• Center / Location: Pretoria Groenkloof

Supply Chain Management Intern

Overview: Providing support in the coordination and administration of SCM functions such as travel management, procurement, tenders, record keeping, stationery and asset management.

Complaints & Investigations Intern

Overview: Attending to consumer complaints and rendering investigations, assessment of products and inspection services to ensure effective enforcement of the Consumer Act in accordance with the NCC priorities.

Information and Communication Technology Intern

Overview: Providing support in the coordination, maintainance and administration of ICT Systems for the NCC and development of systems.

Enforcement & Legal Intern

Overview: Providing support and opinions on litigation and corporate legal services to the NCC and prosecutions on behalf of the NCC.
