About the Internship

The Interns will assist the Finance Department with the implementation of a system-based fixed asset management solution. This learnership/Internship is project-focused and aims to improve IAS 16 compliance, strengthen asset governance, and support the transition from Excel-based records to a centralised digital asset management platform. The role also includes physical asset verification across AssureCloud branches nationwide.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the selection, setup, and rollout of a fixed asset management system.
  • Cleanse, validate, and migrate the existing Excel-based asset register into the new system.
  • Conduct physical verification, tagging, and inspection of assets across South African branches.
  • Capture and maintain accurate asset information (location, custodian, condition, etc.).
  • Assist with asset governance, housekeeping, and basic internal control processes.
  • Support monthly and ad-hoc asset reporting.

 

Requirements

  • Completed Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Accounting or Financial Management.
  • No work experience required (12-month Learnership/Internship).

 

Advantageous

  • Exposure to fixed asset management, asset registers, asset tagging or verification, Excel-based financial data, or basic accounting tasks (advantageous).

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong Excel skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to work systematically with large datasets.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationally.
  • Organised, analytical, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong communicator.
  • Takes initiative and works independently.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
