About FAIS Ombud

FAIS Ombud is an independent statutory office in South Africa responsible for resolving complaints between consumers and financial services providers in a fair, impartial, and informal manner. Established under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act, the FAIS Ombud investigates disputes related to financial advice and intermediary services, ensuring that consumers are treated fairly while promoting accountability and compliance within the financial services industry.

 

Internship Overview

FAIS Ombud seeks to appoint HR Graduate Trainees to the Graduate Training Programme. This is a structured programme specifically designed to produce a pipeline of competent trainees entering the labour market. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn under a dedicated mentor. Graduates will be assigned to the Human Resources Department and will be exposed to various competency-based training opportunities.

Key Performance Areas

  • Provide administrative support across all HR functions, including employee records management.
  • Support recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.
  • Assist with ensuring HR compliance and governance requirements are met.
  • Assist with the coordination and administration of training and development initiatives
  • Support payroll, leave, and employee benefits administration.
  • Assist with compiling and maintaining accurate HR reports and data.

Requirements

  • Diploma (NQF 6) or Degree (NQF 7) in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • South African citizen with a valid South African Identity document.
  • Passion for public service and an interest/desire to work in the Financial Sector.
  • Strong academic background and high levels of integrity.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment, willing to learn and work extra hours.
  • Energetic, self-driven, and deadline driven.
  • Must be computer literate.
