Seriti Coal: Bursaries for 2023

Seriti is offering bursaries for students at University of Science or University of Technology in the below mentioned fields of study.

Fields of study:

• Electrical (Heavy Current) & Mechanical Engineering: BSc/BEng/NDip/AdvDip - (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)
• Survey: Bachelor of Mine Surveying, BTech, NDip - (Final year)
• Geology: BTech/BSc Geology - (Hons)
• Occupational hygiene (VOHE): (major in Occupational Hygiene) - (Final year)
• BSc Mining/Engineering/BTech Science - (Final year)
• Rock Engineer: BSc Engineering (Mining) - (Final year/hons)
• BSc Geology (hons)/BEng Tech - (Final year/hons)
• Metallurgy: BSc Eng/BEng/BTech in extractive metallurgy -  (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)
• Chemical engineering - (2nd, 3rd, 4th year)
• Finance: Bachelor of Commerce in Finance - (2nd year)
• Human Resources: Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resource/Labour Law/related qualification  - (2nd year)
• Environment: BSc Environmental related/BTech  - (Final year)
• Corporate & Community Relations: BA Communication Science/Public Relations equivalent  - (Final year)

Application Requirements (Who can apply?):

• Students who are currently in their 2nd, 3rd, 4th year of study
• Students already registered at an accredited tertiary institution
• Results above 60%
• Bursaries will not be awarded to students studying a bridging course/foundation program
• Valid South African ID
• Copy of 2022 Academic record
• Brief CV

Bursary will cover:

• Accommodation allowance
• Meal allowance
• Book allowance
• Tuition fees for 2023 (excluding the previous year’s failed subjects/modules or 2022 outstanding tuition fees including interest charged

Bursary Terms & Conditions:

• Student must pass studies
• Obligation to provide vacation work if required
• Work back obligation for students upon completion of their studies
• Specific focus will be placed on students from our communities
• Applicants that are beneficiaries of any other Bursary Programme and/or sponsorship will not be considered
