Monocle: Finance Internship Programme 2024

Monocle is looking for a Finance Intern to join our internal finance team of a growing international consulting group firm. This position reports directly to the Financial Manager and the Finance Executive and Group CFO.

Responsibilities:

As a Finance Intern your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Manage the full invoicing process between Monocle and its clients, which may include but not limited to: -

1. Statement of work and Purchase Order Management
2. Track the accuracy of timesheets received
3. Maintain client relationship
4. Accurately invoice Monocles clients and effectively build a relationship with the client
5. Effectively communicate with Executives on on-going status between Monocle, the consultant and the client
6. Maintain the debtors collection on all invoices sent out

• Assisting with research, filing, data entry, recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
• Reconciling daily bank reconciliations, posting cash book entries and receipts for the group
• Maintaining the petty cash fund
• Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations
• Implementing internal control systems as the group grows and evolves
• Ad-hoc financial queries and information requests
• Drive consistency, accuracy and timely reporting across the group in a high paced environment
• Engagement and communication with Executives at all levels
• Well-organized and energetic and can work well in a team

Requirements:

The successful candidate must:

• Must be a recent graduate with a Bachelors degree in Accounting
• Working towards a CIMA/ACCA or equivalent post degree qualification
• Have strong (Advanced) Microsoft Excel skills
• Analytical, attention to detail, performance driven with a passion to succeed and grow
• Excellent communication skills
